About Joni

Hello, I'm Joni Saito Leckey.

I discovered the design-layout for how our muscles are positioned for the walking cycle. All joints structures are kept healthy by maintaining freely moving, stable joints. The Saito Gait Model is key to identifying and correcting restrictions and imbalances for pain-free, enjoyable motion.

The director of the Long Beach VA Hospital Gait Laboratory recognized my Model as a Unifying Field Theory. He helped me publish my basic findings in 1993.

In over 20 years of applying this Model, I have witnessed my corresponding Precision Jonicises and Manually Assisted Corrective Motions (MACMs) improve simple to difficult problems to muscles and other joint structures in record time.

In 1990, I earned my Master's of Science in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Arizona and my Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology (the study of movement) from UCLA.  I am accepted to the Naturopathic Doctoral Program at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe this Fall 2012. My purpose for attending is to position myself to be a professional sports team doctor and biomechanist, develop protocols for Natural Medicine in the Emergency Room, and carry Sports Medicine and Performance Training to new heights.

Personal Lifestyle Changes

In late 1995, I guided my family through a complete change in lifestyle habits, ridding our pantry of all foods and beverages that compromised our health and all body and home cleaning and care products that were harmful. We moved to rural Oregon in 1999 until the end of 2010 to live the wholesome lifestyle we wanted for our family. Our children have been raised eating well, gardening, knowing what resources help and when, and learning how to cook from scratch. In 1994, I uncovered another Unifying Theory for the way our bodies distribute, utilize and integrate the resources for the proper and elevated functions of the organ systems.

I have developed cutting-edge techniques to manually and through coaching assist your body in making the motions that stabilize your joints and bring healing. My unique approach gives your body new freedom and gains to rise ahead as an extraordinary athlete or layperson and to enjoy an exceptional, pain free, quality of life. I have increasingly applied natural resources for healing and health since the mid '80s, going through my only health challenges, and have been life-coaching since mid-1996.

Sports Background

My childhood competitive sport was swimming. I held my high school record in the 100 yard Breaststroke.  While developing the first Precision Exercises and using the Saito Gait Cycle Exercises for several years in the early '90s, after several years of focusing on my joint stability training alone, I decided to get back in the pool twice a week for six weeks before a Master's Swim Meet.  After such a short training period, my times ranked me as eighth in the nation for the 200 meter Breaststroke and tenth in the 400 meter Individual Medley in the 25 to 29 year old Masters Swimming age group. My Medley Relay team made All-American. I experienced the power of my exercises first hand to do more than what my time training in the pool could have given me alone.

As an adult, I played competitive baseball in San Diego for three seasons, trying-out for San Diego's professional women's team  and again outdoing what baseball training alone could do for me. Unfortunately, the organizers had venue problems, and they redirected us to Riverside which was not practical for my family. I passed up an opportunity I later wish I had pursued. I also played city league men's and women's basketball, softball, and volleyball.

I have coached all age levels of swimming, youth boys and high school girls basketball, minors and majors little league baseball and personal training and life-coaching of high school, college, and professional level baseball, basketball and football players. My athletes excelled from the quick improvements that occurred from my exercises and understanding of diet, nutrition, and cooking. Coaching precise and dynamic motion and mental connections and effectively helping even picky eaters enjoy healthy eating has added rapid gains for my athletes.

Enjoying Others

Most fulfilling to me is coaching passionate people to discover their potential and bringing lasting relief to those who have pain. From children to adults, I love teaching and training people eager to learn and be their best. It is rewarding to help children, top athletes and ailing elderly discover that they can improve and exceed their goals.
